This year’s Ryder Cup will be interesting after footage emerged of Brooks Koepka — one of golf’s best players — swearing and showing his disdain for compatriot Bryson DeChambeau.
A leaked video from an interview with the Golf Channel following Koepka’s second-round made its way onto social media.
Koepka was asked what he was able to do so well in his second round by Golf Channel reporter Todd Lewis.
Midway through Koepka’s response, the 31-year-old year American lost his train of thought. He froze and his eyes rolled.
He attempted to resume speaking, before saying “I lost my train of thought; hearing that bulls***”.
Koepka had aired his frustrations around his struggles with the putter, which haunted him all week at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island as he finished tied-second alongside Louis Oosthuizen as Phil Mickelson made history by becoming golf’s oldest major winner.
“I felt it difficult to read sometimes,” he said.
At the same time, DeChambeau walked past his compatriot and said: “Just gotta start it on the right line.”
Following the bizarre incident, Lewis quipped: “We’re going to enjoy that back at the TV bunker.”
Not that the golf star was shaking in his shoes.
“I honestly wouldn’t even care,” Koepka replied.
Last year DeChambeau bizarrely had a crack at Koepka’s physique during a Twitch stream.
“In [ESPN’s] Body Issue he didn’t even have any abs, I can tell you that,” DeChambeau said. “I got some abs.”
Koepka heard the comments and took DeChambeau, who at that point had not claimed a major, to the cleaners as the four-time major winner posted a photo with his four trophies, stating: “You were right Bryson DeChambeau I am 2 short of a 6 pack.”
