Telangana records 494 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths | Hyderabad News, the vie

HYDERABAD: Telangana recorded 494 new Covid-19 cases and 4 deaths on Sunday even as the number of active cases in the state stood at 9,405.
The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year, stand at 6,41,153 and the death toll stands at 3,784. The number of active containment zones in the state stood at 39.
Apart from two containment zones in Hyderabad, Mahabubabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jagtiyal, Kaimnagar and Bhadadri Kothagudem have majority of the active containment zones in the state.
A total of 710 patients were declared recovered on Sunday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,27,964. The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.59 per cent while the recovery rate has improved to 97.94 per cent now. So far 79.8 per cent of overall cases in the state have been asymptomatic while 20.2 per cent have been symptomatic.
On Sunday, 91,457 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus. Telangana has now completed testing 2.13 crore samples and has reached 5.72 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 76 new cases on Sunday, while neighbouring Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 19 cases, Ranga Reddy recorded 31 and Sanga Reddy recorded 12 cases. Outside of Hyderabad city and its outskirts, Jagtiyal, Khamman, Mancheriyal, Suryapet and Nalgonda saw more cases.
