2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational odds: Surprising PGA picks from top model that’s nailed seven majors

2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational odds: Surprising PGA picks from top model that’s nailed seven majors, the vie

Brooks Koepka has been dominant at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational in recent years. In fact, Koepka has finished in the top five in his last three starts at this event, which includes a victory in 2019. Koepka is expected to be in the mix again this week when the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational gets underway from TPC Southwind on Thursday. Koepka, a four-time major champion, is going off as the 12-1 favorite in the latest 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational odds from Caesars Sportsbook.

Fellow major champions like Jordan Spieth (16-1), Dustin Johnson (20-1), Collin Morikawa (14-1) and Rory McIlroy (18-1) are also among the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational 2021 contenders who will try to pick up a much-needed win. Before locking in your 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational picks or entering any PGA DFS tournaments on sites like DraftKings or FanDuel, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed last June. In fact, it’s up almost $10,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure’s best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. He was also all over Daniel Berger (+220) and Emiliano Grillo (+700) finishing inside the top-20. McClure’s best bets netted over $2,200 at the 2021 Open Championship.

In addition, McClure’s model was all over Jon Rahm’s (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the weekend, but the model still projected him as the winner. And at the 2021 Masters, McClure nailed Rahm’s (+250) top-five finish in his best bets, as well as Corey Conners’ (+550) top-10 showing.

This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational field is locked, SportsLine simulated the event 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational leaderboard.

The model’s top 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational: Thomas, the defending champion and one of the top Vegas favorites, struggles mightily and barely cracks the top 10. Thomas has had a sensational season thus far, winning the Players Championship and securing five top-10 finishes overall.

However, Thomas has struggled in his most recent events on the PGA Tour, finishing T-40 or worse in four of his last six starts. He hasn’t finished inside the top-10 since his victory at TPC Sawgrass in March, and he’ll be fighting fatigue after competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He’s not a strong pick to win it all and there are far better values in the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational 2021 field.

Another surprise: Louis Oosthuizen, a 22-1 long shot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.

Oosthuizen enters this week’s event full of confidence. That’s because the 38-year-old has finished third or better in his last three starts on the PGA Tour. He’s also finished in the top 10 in six of his last seven tour appearances.

Oosthuizen has been able to secure those positive results thanks in large part to his sensational short game. In fact, Oosthuizen enters this week’s event ranked 12th in strokes gained around the green (.393) and 14th in scrambling (63.41). He also ranks first in strokes gained putting (.979) and total putting (48.1). Those impressive stats, plus his long odds, make him a strong value pick in 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude bets this week.

How to make 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational picks

The model is also targeting three other golfers with 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational odds of 20-1 or higher to make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these underdogs could hit it big. You can only see them here.
