HYDERABAD: A man who went close to an African lion moat area at Hyderabad’s Nehru Zoological Park, was rescued by the zoo authorities on Tuesday.
Later, the officials released a video of the 31-year-old G Sai Kumar attempting this misadventure. Somehow by reaching on top of the boulder at the moat, Kumar sat on it while a lion was staring at him from the bottom, from its open enclosure.

Meanwhile, other visitors at the zoo noticed that a man breached the security enclosure and went close to the moat and started raising an alarm. From the bottom of the lion moat, a lion was staring at him.
Meanwhile, two guards of the zoo reached on top of the boulder and started to call him back. On seeing them, he returned back and they took him to custody and later handed him to police.
“Today, at around 3.30pm a person who was walking vulnerably on the boulders of the African Lion moat area, where the lions are released in the exhibited enclosure at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad which is a absolutely prohibited area, was rescued and caught by the zoo staff and handed over to the Bahadurpura Police station by lodging a complaint,” Nehru Zoological Park curator said in a press release.
