Karnataka: Tension in Tumakuru after clash between BJP and VHP leaders | Bengaluru News, the vie

TUMAKURU: Tension prevailed for a bit in Tumakuru after Sogadu Shivanna, senior BJP functionary and former minister, clashed with GK Srinivas, a Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) functionary, in full view of about 400 Sangh Parivar workers on Sunday.
Trouble erupted when the gathering was prevented from taking out a procession in Tumakuru before heading to Chikkamagaluru to participate in the Datta Jayanthi.
The VHP functionary had allegedly said the organisation had not obtained police permission for the procession.
This irked Shivanna, who tried to assault Srinivas. Local BJP functionaries intervened and calmed tempers. VHP members later took out a procession from Town Hall Circle to Vinayakanagar.
